Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing spoon or spatula
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) Ground beef Lean beef preferred
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning Or homemade magic blend
  • 1 bag Tortilla chips Thick chips for maximum hold
  • 1 ½ cups Shredded cheese Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a mix
  • ½ cup Diced tomatoes Fresh and juicy
  • ½ cup Sliced jalapeños Optional, but brings the fire
  • ¼ cup Chopped red onion For a little crunch
  • Sour cream, guacamole, salsa All the fun toppings!

Instructions

  • Sizzle Up That Beef
In a big ol’ skillet, cook your ground beef over medium heat. Break it up with your spoon and let it get all brown and delicious. Once it’s cooked, sprinkle in that taco seasoning, add a splash of water, and stir it all up like the kitchen queen you are.
  • Set the Nacho Stage
Grab a big baking sheet (or whatever you have, no judgment) and spread out your tortilla chips in a nice, even layer. We’re building a solid, crunchy base for all that goodness!
  • Layer Like You Mean It
Spoon your juicy beef all over the chips, shower it with shredded cheese, and sprinkle on tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños if you’re feeling spicy. No rules — just good vibes and extra cheese.
  • Bake It Till It’s Melty
Pop your tray into a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 5–7 minutes — just until the cheese is all gooey and irresistible. Keep an eye on it, babe — no burnt nachos on our watch!
  • Top It Like a Boss
Once it’s out, dollop on sour cream, guac, salsa — whatever makes your heart sing. Then stand back and admire your work (and maybe snap a pic for the ‘gram, just saying).

Notes

  • Extra Vibes: Add black beans, corn, or grilled veggies for bonus flavor.
  • Shortcut Queen: Store-bought guac and salsa totally allowed!
  • Leftovers: Not ideal — nachos are meant to be lived and loved fresh!
