Stir Fry Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken breast or thighs thinly sliced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or sesame oil for extra flavor
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 small onion sliced (optional but tasty)
For the sauce:
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce or extra soy if you don’t have it
- 1 tbsp cornstarch to thicken
- 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- Pinch of red pepper flakes optional, for a little kick
Optional Extras
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- A squeeze of lime for brightness
- Cooked rice or noodles to serve with it
Cook the Chicken
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Toss in the chicken, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and cook until golden and just cooked through (about 5–6 minutes). Remove from the pan and set aside. Look at that golden chicken — chef vibes activated.
Sauté the Veggies
Add the rest of the oil, then toss in garlic, onion, and broccoli. Stir fry for 3–4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and just tender. Your kitchen will smell so good you’ll want to eat it right out of the pan (resist, babe, resist).
Serve & Flex
Spoon it over a bowl of fluffy rice or toss it with noodles. Sprinkle sesame seeds or a squeeze of lime if you’re feelin’ fancy. Then sit down, take a bite, and think: “This tastes like takeout but cheaper, healthier, and made by me.”
-
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in a splash of soy sauce, garlic, and cornstarch for 15 minutes before cooking.
-
You can swap broccoli with snow peas, bell peppers, or mixed veggies for variety.
-
Serve it with white rice, brown rice, or noodles for a full meal.
-
For a healthier twist, reduce the oil and use low-sodium soy sauce.
-
Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days—great for meal prep!
