- 8–10 fresh mint leaves don’t be shy!
- Juice of 1 lime fresh is best, always
- 1–2 tsp sugar depends how sweet you like it
- 2 oz white rum or skip it for a mocktail moment
- Soda water or sparkling water to top it off
- Ice a whole lotta it
- Extra mint & blueberries for garnish because we’re fancy like that
Muddle like you mean itDrop those blueberries, mint, lime juice, and sugar into your favorite glass. Then take a muddler — or the end of a wooden spoon if you’re like me and never know where your tools are — and just smash. Not like rage-smash, but cute-smash. You want those blueberries to pop and that mint to release all its minty glory. Add the good stuffPour in your rum and throw in some ice. I like to fill my glass almost to the top because I’m dramatic like that. Top it off + taste testAdd soda water until it’s bubbly and beautiful.Give it a little stir (or swirl it with your straw like I do), taste it, and adjust if you want more sugar, more lime, or more… rum (no judgment). Make it prettyAdd a few mint leaves and blueberries on top. If you’ve got a lime slice? Go for it. Live your best cocktail life.
-
Fresh blueberries are ideal, but thawed frozen ones totally work.
-
You can skip the alcohol and still get that summer glow.
-
Don’t skip the muddling — that’s where the flavor magic happens.
-
Tastes best with someone you can vent to, barefoot on a balcony.
-
Store mint leaves in water in the fridge for longer freshness — future you will thank you.
